Collective and Community Projects > All American Video Dialogue

All American Video Dialogue (AAVD) is a national, video‑based collective community project that invites individuals to offer short, personal reflections on what the term “All American” means to them.

Through intimate video responses, AAVD creates a growing archive of voices that reflect the complexity, contradictions, and evolving understandings of American identity. What begins as a personal declaration becomes part of a larger collective conversation.

Presented through curated screenings, installations, and public dialogues, AAVD emphasizes listening as a civic and creative act. The project values multiplicity over consensus and challenges singular or fixed definitions of belonging.

AAVD is designed to be flexible and participatory, allowing each screening context to foreground community engagement, discussion, and reflection alongside the videos themselves.
